Bob Wyer's Delaware County: Photographs from the mid- 20th Century Visit WHS to view rarely-seen images from local photojournalist Bob Wyer (1908-1982). Wyer's career ran from the late 1930s into the 1970s. His photographs covered a wide range of activities and events in Delaware County, including: school & family groups, fairs, farming, street scenes, accidents, fires, floods and even, in a few instances, murders and trials. This display is on loan from the Delaware County Historical Society.Sunday, May 19

One of the largest antique shoe displays in New York. This display was donated to the WHS from local business owner, Ben Cucciarre, of Tony’s Shoe Store. Ben & Frank’s grandfather, Guiseppe Guerra opened a shoe store in Walton in the early 1900’s.June 29th

A feature film by Norm Struder about the construction of the Cannonsville reservoir along the west branch of the Delaware River will be presented. The film is on loan from the Delaware County Historical Association.August 12th – 17th

The Walton Cemetery Association and the Walton Historical Society are sponsoring a short cemetery tour and a hands-on workshop on How to Best Clean Old and Historic Gravestones. Marianne Greenfield from Delhi, a 16-year member of the Assocaition for Gravestone Studies and past trustee of the AGS Board, will be the presenter.August 13-18, 2012
